Job summary

Jourdanton Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a licensed Medication Aide to assist in administering prescribed medications to residents under supervision. You will follow facility policies, verify medications, and document administration to ensure resident safety and care quality.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a state license for Medication Aide. You will collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and pharmacists and participate in quality assurance activities

Qualifications

  • Must possess a high school education or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the facility policies and procedures for administering medications to residents.
  • Note and report errors in medication administration.
  • Assist in developing procedures to determine medication errors and prevent them.
  • Complete forms, charts and reports as required.
  • Maintain professional relationships with nursing staff, physicians, the Medical Director and pharmacists.
  • Report resident complaints to the Director of Nursing Services.
  • Participate in surveys and quality assurance programs related to medication administration.
  • Accurately prepare, administer and document medications as ordered.
  • Verify medications brought by new residents with the attending physician or facility pharmacist.
