Job summary

Qualifications

• State certification as a Nursing Assistant is mandatory.
• State approved medication administration certification (where required).
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications as ordered by a physician under nursing supervision.
• Follows the five rights of medication administration.
• Records medication administration and any PRN treatments.
• Monitors and reports side effects and vital signs as assigned.
• Maintains secure medication carts/rooms per policy.
• Participates in facility education and QA meetings.
