Job summary

Cantex Continuing Care Networks in Livingston, TX is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to administer oral and topical medications to patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with state and federal regulations and facility policy.

Candidates must hold state CNA certification and any required medication administration certification, be able to read, write, and speak English, and demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• State certification as a Nursing Assistant is mandatory.
• State approved medication administration certification (where required).
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Follows five rights of medication administration.
• Records medication administration accurately.
• Observes and reports adverse reactions or side effects.
• Secures medication carts and rooms per policy.
• Attends in-services and QA meetings.
