Job summary

Talented-Medical-Solutions seeks a Certified Medication Aide to administer routine medications to residents in a long-term care setting under nurse supervision. You will observe for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions and document care in the MAR.

Qualified candidates hold a Certified Medication Aide and CNA with BLS certifications, and a high school diploma. Prior LTC experience is preferred; role involves completing medication carts and resident daily living support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting is preferred.
• Certification as Medication Aide is required in the state of practice.
• CNA certification and BLS certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Administer routine oral, topical and other non-injectable medications per physician orders.
• Verify medication, dose, route, time and resident identity prior to each administration.
• Observe residents for therapeutic response and adverse reactions and report to the charge nurse.
• Document medication administration accurately in the medication administration record.
• Assist with medication cart management, ordering and storage in accordance with policy.
• Provide direct resident care and support activities of daily living as assigned.
