Job summary

Cypress Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Reidsville, NC is seeking a qualified Certified Medication Aide (CMA/CNA) to safely administer medications to residents. You will verify identities, document administration, and assist with medication charting in a team-focused environment.

Requirements include current NC Medication Aide or Nursing Assistant certification, active CPR, and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina Medication Aide Certification or Nursing Assistant Certification is required.
• CPR certification must be current and active.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills are required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet navigation.
• High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and work well in a team.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document oral and/or topical medications.
• Verify residents' identities before administering medications.
• Ensure medications are administered to the correct residents.
• Document any instance where prescribed medication is not administered.
• Assist with medication charting as directed.
• Verify adequate supplies of medications and equipment.
• Order prescribed medications and supplies as needed.
• Follow facility policies and procedures regarding medication destruction.
• Notify the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse of any drug or narcotic discrepancies.
