Qualifications

• CMA Certification is required for the role.
• Familiarity with the five rights of medication administration and entires in resident records.
• Compliance with state/federal regulations and facility policy.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the five rights of medication administration.
• Notifies appropriate licensed staff when a resident reports pain.
• May take and record vital signs for residents as required.
• Records medication administrations accurately in the computer system.
• Responds to resident call lights and checks on residents under supervision.
• Observes and reports adverse reactions or side effects of medications.
• Maintains resident safety and supports a culture of quality and safety.
• Administers PRN medications per policy and regulations.
• Reports changes in resident condition or behavior.
