Job summary

Hertford Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Hertford, NC is hiring a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) for a full-time 7am–7pm shift. The CMA administers oral and topical medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse, following physician orders and state/federal regulations.

The role involves documenting medications, taking vital signs when required, and responding to resident needs and calls. A strong emphasis on safety, quality, and accurate record-keeping is essential.

Qualifications

• CMA certification is required.
• Full-time position with a 7am–7pm schedule.
• Duties performed under a licensed nurse supervision and state/federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications as ordered by a physician under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the five rights of medication administration.
• Notifies licensed staff if a resident reports pain.
• May take and record resident vital signs as needed.
• Records medication administration in the computer system and references resident information.
• Responds to resident calls, anticipates needs, and makes rounds with nurse on shift.
• Observes and reports adverse medication reactions to the licensed nurse.
• Supports resident safety and quality of care, reducing health-care errors.
• Administers PRN medications per policy and regulations.
• Reports changes in resident condition or behavior to staff when appropriate.
