Job summary

HMG Healthcare LLC in Sherman, TX is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join Post Oak Rehabilitation. The CMA will administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with established protocols, work closely with nurses, and maintain accurate medication records.

Minimum qualifications include CMA certification, high school diploma, English proficiency, and ability to follow instructions. Preferred experience in long-term care and familiarity with EHR systems.

Qualifications

• Current and valid CMA certification as required by state regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic knowledge of medication administration principles and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications to residents accurately and timely, following the five rights of medication administration.
• Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions and report concerns to nursing staff immediately.
• Maintain detailed and accurate medication records, including documentation of administration and changes in resident condition.
• Assist nursing staff with routine care tasks as needed to support resident health and comfort.
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and safety protocols related to medication handling.
• Communicate effectively with residents to explain procedures and provide reassurance.
• Participate in ongoing training and competency evaluations to stay current with best practices.
