The CMA will work under licensed nurses, requiring Texas certification, good health screening results, and strong communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Medication Aide or equivalent credential recognized by Texas.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of medication administration principles and healthcare safety standards.
• Ability to pass background checks and meet health screening requirements.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications to patients following established protocols and under supervision of licensed nurses.
• Monitor patients for side effects or adverse reactions and communicate observations to nursing staff promptly.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medication administration records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Assist with patient care activities as directed, including basic health monitoring and reporting changes in patient condition.
• Ensure medication storage areas are organized, secure, and comply with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in ongoing training and competency evaluations to maintain certification and stay current with best practices.
