Job summary

Avamere is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to support residents in Medford, OR, in the residence setting. You will administer medications under a licensed nurse, monitor resident well-being, and provide basic nursing care and ADL support.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, timely reporting of changes, and collaboration with the nursing team. CPR/BLS must be current, and prior LTC/geriatric care is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Licensed CMA in the state this position is held in.
  • Must maintain an active CPR/BLS during employment.
  • Experience in long term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute or critical care is preferred.
  • Experience in electronic medical records documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Administer oral and topical medications as prescribed under supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Document medication administration accurately, including dosage and time.
  • Assist residents with ADLs such as hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
  • Monitor vital signs and report changes to the supervising nurse.
  • Ensure safety and comfort of residents; respond promptly to call lights.
  • Communicate with residents, family, and staff; document care and changes.

Location: Avamere Rogue Valley: 625 Stevens St. Medford, OR

Job Summary

Certified Medication Aide (CMA)assists in administering medications to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse, ensuring correct dosages, times, and documentation, while also providing basic nursing care and monitoring resident well-being

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Medication Administration:

  • Administer oral and topical medications as prescribed by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Ensure the correct medication, dosage, and time are administered.
  • Document medication administration accurately, including dosage, time, and resident response.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication administration.
  • Report any adverse reactions or side effects to the supervising nurse.

Basic Nursing Care:

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
  • Monitor vital signs and report any changes to the supervising nurse.
  • Provide personal care, including bathing, grooming, and toileting.

Resident Care and Safety:

  • Ensure the safety and comfort of residents.
  • Answer residents’ call lights and respond to their needs promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Follow established healthcare standards and practices.

Communication and Documentation:

  • Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and staff.
  • Document resident care and medication administration accurately and thoroughly.
  • Report any changes in resident condition or concerns to the supervising nurse.

Other Duties:

  • May assist with other nursing tasks as assigned by the supervising nurse.
  • Participate in staff meetings and continuing education.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Licensed Certified Medication Aide in the State this position is held in.
  • Must maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment.
  • Prefer experience in long term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute and or critical care clinical setting.
  • Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
