Job summary

Apploi in El Paso, TX is seeking a spirited Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to support nursing staff and residents on a PRN basis. You will assist with med passes, follow care plans, and reinforce infection control and safety protocols.

Under direct supervision of the charge nurse, you will participate in shift reports, document accurately, and help maintain high-quality resident care. English communication and a current CMA certification are required.

Qualifications

• English communication skills in speaking and writing are required.
• Prior patient care experience is preferred.
• Current Medication Aide certification is required.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Certified Medication Aide (CMA) will be under the direct supervision of the charge nurse. The charge nurse will follow up with the CMA to ensure the med pass is completed timely and accurately to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to communicate effectively in English through both speech and writing.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.
• Current certification for Medication Aide.

CLINICAL

• Participate in Shift Report.
• Perform routine patient care in accordance with Federal, State, Company and Center nursing policies and procedures.
• Employs preventative and restorative measures.
• Follows hand washing techniques and other infection control guidelines during the performance of patient care.

ADMINISTRATIVE

• Reports promptly any change of patient condition or other concerns to Patient Care Supervisor.
• Follow charting guidelines for PRN documentation.
• Reports medication reorder, etc.
• Participates in all assigned meetings.
• Participates in all training, education or in-service as required.
• Inventory drugs, on the designated forms, as they arrive.
