Job summary

Cypress Healthcare and Rehabilitation in San Marcos, TX is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our resident‑centered care team. You will work under the charge nurse to ensure timely, accurate med passes and maintain high‑quality care.

This full‑time role offers a 2PM–10PM schedule with benefits eligibility and competitive wages. Applicants must hold CMA certification and be able to communicate effectively in English, with prior patient care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English through both speech and writing.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.
• Current certification for Medication Aide.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Shift Report.
• Perform routine patient care in accordance with Federal, State, Company and Center nursing policies and procedures.
• Employs preventative and restorative measures.
• Follows hand washing techniques and other infection control guidelines during the performance of patient care.
• Reports promptly any change of patient condition or other concerns to Patient Care Supervisor.
• Follow charting guidelines for PRN documentation.
• Reports medication reorder, etc.
• Participates in all assigned meetings.
• Participates in all training, education or in-service as required.
• Inventory drugs, on the designated forms, as they arrive.

Job Summary

Certified Medication Aide (CMA) will be under the direct supervision of the charge nurse. The charge nurse will follow up with the CMA to ensure the med pass is completed timely and accurately to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.
