Job summary

Colonial Manor of Elma is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide to join our skilled nursing team. You will administer medications, assist with daily living activities, monitor residents’ conditions, and help maintain a safe, high‑quality care environment.

Required: Iowa CNA certificate, Medication Aide training, CPR, and a high school diploma or equivalent; 1 year CNA and Medication Aide experience preferred. Shifts include 1st shift full-time, 2nd shift part-time, and PRN with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Iowa CNA certificate (active).
• Completion of State of Iowa Medication Aide training.
• CPR certification.
• One year CNA and Medication Aide experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for side effects.
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living.
• Observe changes in residents’ condition and report promptly.
• Maintain a safe environment and document care accurately.

As a Medication Aide you are the front line of the Clinical Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Colonial Manor of Elma by providing our residents with the medications they need, performing Activities of Daily Living, observing changes in condition, ensuring a safe environment, and maintaining education. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

As a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent, an unencumbered State of Iowa C.N.A. certificate, successful completion of State of Iowa approved Medication Aide training and C.P.R. certification. One (1) year of C.N.A. and Medication Aide experience is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate.
