Job summary

Onsite position with healthcare coding responsibilities across inpatient and outpatient services. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of coding/billing experience and holds a relevant certificate or degree.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate or Associate’s Degree in medical coding or related field preferred.
• Two or more years’ of medical billing/collections/coding required.
• Working knowledge of inpatient and outpatient coding and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CPT coding principles and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-PCS diagnosis and procedure codes for patient records.
• Codes claims accurately to obtain appropriate reimbursement from payers.
• Reads patient records to extract precise information from documentation, tests and reports.
• Requests diagnosis clarification from physicians when information is incomplete.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and ensures chart integrity.
• Escalates inconsistencies and supports workflow improvements to reduce billing errors.
