Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two or more years of coding experience in a healthcare organization.
• CPC-A or CPC certification required (AAPC/CCA).
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS manuals.

Responsibilities

• Gathers charge information, codes and overcodes physician coding, enters charges into AthenaNet.
• Reviews clinical documentation to determine level of service and creates the claim.
• Ensures accuracy of patient demographics and insurance information.
• Communicates with physicians regarding coding questions and ensures documentation supports services.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
