You will review billing details for accuracy and assist in resolving denials while staying current with payer policies. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of coding experience, knowledge of medical terminology, and a background in health information management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• An associate degree in Health Information Management is preferred.
• 2–3 years of diagnosis and CPT coding in a clinic, business, or revenue cycle environment is preferred.
• Broad knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II codes for primary and multi-specialty billing.
• Review claim denials for coding issues and assist insurance collectors with resolution for proper reimbursement.
• Maintain revenue flow continuity by accurate and timely coding and productivity.

Education

Associate Degree in Health Information Management

Vocational / Technical Degree

2-3 years coding experience in clinic or revenue cycle
