Job summary

Providence is seeking a Coding Specialist in Spokane, WA to educate and support Providers, Division Directors/Managers and clinical staff on coding regulations. You will conduct random chart audits, answer coding questions, and review data to provide feedback; travel to PMG clinics is required.

This fully in-person role requires staying current with CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS updates and collaborating with the Providence Clinical Network.

Qualifications

• Certification from AAPC on hire.
• Certification from AHIMA on hire.
• 2 years experience in medical insurance reimbursement, medical billing and coding related to charge review and work RVUs.
• Experience reviewing patient account information and insurance explanation of benefits.

Responsibilities

• Educate Providers and clinical staff on coding regulations and updates.
• Conduct random chart audits and provide direct feedback to providers.
• Investigate and answer provider coding questions.
• Review data and reports to provide additional feedback.
• Routinely visit Providence Medical Groups (PMG) clinics and attend clinical meetings.
• Stay current with annual CPT and ICD-10 and HCPCS codes.
