Ascension is seeking a Medical Assistant in Wabash, IN to support the Wellness Preventative Care department. The role is PRN with day shifts, and may pick up shifts at Kokomo locations as needed.

You will assist providers with examinations, measure vital signs, transcribe orders, and maintain accurate medical records while helping keep the clinic organized and efficient across multiple sites.

Competenze

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant certification or registration required within 90 days of hire.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Able to pick up shifts in Kokomo, but main location will be Ford Meter Box in Wabash.
• Assist providers with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures while maintaining sterile and organized treatment rooms.
• Streamline clinic workflow by interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and accurately recording medical histories in patient charts.
• Transcribe provider orders for labs, imaging, and prescriptions, ensuring all diagnoses and follow-up instructions are documented with high precision.
• Manage essential administrative duties, including medical record maintenance, clerical support, and inventory management to ensure seamless clinic daily operations.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Certified or Registered both accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences

• Will cover 3 clinics: one in Wabash, two in Kokomo
