Job summary

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. seeks dedicated Certified Medical Assistants to work full-time in the medical department at Garrett County Detention Center in Oakland, MD, under LPN supervision.

You will perform intake, vital signs, prepare examination and treatment areas, manage medications, labs, and Tuberculin skin tests, with a two-week on-the-job orientation. The role offers full-time swing shifts, weekend coverage every 3rd weekend, competitive pay starting at $16/hour with shift differentials,

Qualifications

• Currently hold an active Medical Assistant Certification
• Effective communication skills
• Pleasant telephone manner
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Working knowledge of office equipment and medical equipment
• Working knowledge of medical terminology

Responsibilities

• Perform initial intake screening on new patients and record vital signs
• Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas
• Phoning verification of medications and medical information
• Obtain lab specimens as ordered by the physician (Venipunctures)
• Perform treatments ordered by a Physician
• Maintain medication records
• Administer tuberculin skin testing on new intakes and follow-ups
• Typing of reports, letters, and memoranda
• Answering telephone and processing calls
• Maintain filing system and confidentiality of information
• Follow universal precautions and maintain a pleasant attitude
• Any other duties as assigned
