Job summary

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. seeks a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to work full-time in the medical department at Charles County Detention Center in La Plata, MD.

You will provide comprehensive nursing care under LPN supervision, including vital signs, intake screening, and exam preparation. The role offers base pay around $20.00/hour with shift differentials for second and third shifts, plus benefits such as health care, a 401k with company match, PTO and floating holidays, and urgent MDSSL

Qualifications

• Currently hold an active Medical Assistant Certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficient typing and basic clerical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient intake screening and vital signs.
• Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas.
• Phoning verification of medications and medical information.
• Obtain lab specimens including venipunctures as ordered.
• Administer tuberculin skin tests and document findings.
• Maintain medication records and confidentiality at all times.
