Job summary

Jane Pauley Community Health Center, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale area seeks a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant to support patients and providers in a high-volume ambulatory setting.

You will prepare rooms, take vitals, assist with procedures, administer injections, perform EKGs, and manage referrals while documenting in the EHR.

A CMA/RMA credential, ABHES/CAAHEP program, and BLS are required; familiarity with VFC/CHIRP/VOMS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Certified (CMA) or Registered (RMA) Medical Assistant.
• Graduate of an accredited ABHES or CAAHEP Medical Assistant program.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Familiarity with VFC, CHIRP, and VOMS systems strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and stock exam rooms for patient care.
• Room patients, record vital signs, and communicate with providers.
• Assist providers with procedures and patient care as needed.
• Administer injections, perform EKGs, and coordinate referrals.
• Triage patient phone calls, review test results, manage pharmacy calls, and review medications.
• Document accurately in the EHR in a timely manner.
• Perform point-of-care lab testing and maintain CLIA compliance.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and external partners.
• Adhere to OSHA, CLIA, ADA, and VFC program requirements.
