Job summary

UW Medicine Primary Care at Ravenna is seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) for a full-time, 40-hour week. The role supports both Primary Care and OB/GYN, with a day shift from 8 to 5, Monday through Friday, near public transit in Seattle.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vitals, injections, room preparation, prior authorizations, and assisting providers during exams and procedures. BLS CPR required; WA MA-C cert or progress toward it within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES or equivalent.
• Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve within 6 months of hire.
• Valid AHA BLS CPR for Healthcare Providers.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records.
• Perform injections.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms.
• Submit medication prior authorizations.
• Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and report to provider.
• Act as liaison between patient, family and providers.
• Assist provider with procedures and exams.
• Perform point of care testing and report abnormal lab values.
• Assist in transporting patients as required.
