Job summary

UW Medical Center-Montlake Urology is seeking a Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C) for a per diem, day-shift role. The MA-C will room patients, take vital signs, prepare exam rooms, and assist providers with procedures and exams within a busy urology clinic.

Requirements include a CAHEP/ABHES accredited MA program (or equivalent), Washington MA-C certification or within 6 months, and BLS CPR. Perks include proximity to transit and opportunities for patient care growth.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by CAAHEP/ABHES or equivalent
• Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve within 6 months
• Valid American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
• Perform injections
• Prepare and clean exam rooms
• Submit medication prior authorizations
• Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and report to provider
• Act as a liaison between patient, family and providers
• Assist provider with procedures and exams
• Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values
• Assist in transporting patients as required
