Job summary

University of Washington is seeking a Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C) at UW Medicine Primary Care in South Lake Union. This 100% FTE role1 involves rooming patients, taking vital signs, administering injections, and supporting providers during exams in a busy primary care setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program accredited by CAAHEP/ABHES or equivalent
• Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or eligible to obtain within 6 months
• AHA BLS CPR required
• Equivalent education/experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when legally required

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records.
• Perform injections.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms.
• Submit medication prior authorizations.
• Recognize symptoms and report to provider.
• Act as liaison between patient, family and providers.
• Assist provider with procedures and exams.
• Perform point of care testing and report abnormal results.
• Transport patients as required
