Job summary

UW Medicine Primary Care at South Lake Union in Seattle seeks a qualified Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C) to support patient care, room patients, take vital signs, and assist with procedures in a fast-paced primary care setting.

The MA-C will also prepare exam rooms, process prior authorizations, and coordinate care with providers and families. AWA-certified or eligible within 6 months and BLS CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by CAAHEP/ABHES or equivalent.
• Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve within 6 months of hire; termination if not.
• Valid American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
• Perform injections
• Prepare and clean exam rooms
• Submit medication prior authorizations
• Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and report to provider
• Act as a liaison between patient, family and providers
• Assist provider with procedures and exams
• Perform point of care testing and report abnormal values
• Assist in transporting patients as required
