Shift: Monday - Friday, Days, with some variation by location

The Role You’ll Contribute:

The Medical Assistant, under general supervision, provides appropriate patient care, greeting patients, obtaining clinical, financial, and demographic information, assisting providers during treatment and examinations, and supporting procedures and medication administration as ordered. Performs office duties such as verifying insurance, collecting copays, and scheduling appointments. Actively participates in delivering excellent customer service and maintaining respectful relationships.

• Performs initial response-screening following protocols under the supervision of the physician.
• Cleans, prepares, and maintains examination rooms and treatment areas.
• Prepares specimens for outside lab testing as ordered.
• Checks sample medications for overstocking and expiration, labels samples, logs, and disposes of medications according to policy.
• Schedules inpatient/outpatient admissions and procedures.
• May be required to travel to fulfill staffing needs.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current, valid BLS certification
• Either:
• At least 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience, OR
• Completion of an accredited MA program with externship
• Certification from one of the following organizations (and maintain certification):
• American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) for Certified Medical Assistants
• American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) for Clinical Medical Assistants
• American Medical Technologists (AMT) for Registered Medical Assistants
• American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) for RMA
• National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) for NRMCA
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) for NCMAC
• National Health Career Association (NHA) for CCMA
