Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care and communication, ensuring a superior patient experience and loyalty. You welcome patients, prepare them for visits, and convey essential information about services provided.

The role requires National/Registered MA certification, phlebotomy experience, and a high school diploma or GED. Minimum 1 year in healthcare and BLS certification (within 90 days) are preferred, with experience in primary care or urgent care environments

Qualifications

• Nationally Certified or Registered Medical Assistant required.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience required.
• Current BLS certification preferred; must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• High School Diploma/Equivalency required.
• Experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care or ER preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs point-of-care lab tests and ECGs as ordered.
• Collects and documents vital signs and patient histories.
• Administers medications as directed and educates patients.
• Prepares patients, rooms and supplies for visits or examinations.
• Cleans and maintains treatment areas and equipment.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
