Job summary

Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Community Health Center (VNACJ CHC) is seeking a compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our Primary Care team. This role involves travel across four Community Health Center sites in Asbury Park, Red Bank, Freehold, and Keyport to support providers and patient care.

You will help ensure smooth visits, maintain records, and coordinate medications and referrals while upholding infection control policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved program.
• 6 months+ of supervised medical assistant experience preferred.
• Experience in EKG and phlebotomy.
• CPR certification required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient workflow and maintain clinical records.
• Support medications, supplies, and referrals management.
• Adhere to infection control and safety policies.
• Document and coordinate patient care per SOPs.
• Ensure accurate charting and lab log books.
• Travel across VNACJ CHC sites (Asbury Park, Red Bank, Freehold, Keyport).

Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Community Health Center (VNACJ CHC) offers comprehensive, community based, preventive, primary care and wellness services for New Jersey residents of all ages at four convenient locations. CHC health care services are designed to meet the specific needs of the entire family – from annual check-ups and immunizations to sick visits, mental health counseling and critical prenatal care.

Position Summary:

We’re looking for a compassionate, motivated Certified Medical Assistant to join our Primary Care team. In this role, you’ll be an essential part of a collaborative care environment, supporting providers, engaging directly with patients, and helping ensure every visit is smooth, efficient, and positive. Responsibilities:

• Assists provider with patient workflow and maintaining clinical records
• Executes order and performs related duties as ordered according to standard operating procedure
• Maintains laboratory proficiency and required log books and records
• Assists in coordination, management and documentation of medications, supplies and referrals
• Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies
• Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance

Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved school
• 6 month+ of supervised medical assistant experience preferred
• Experience in EKG and phlebotomy
• CPR certification
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Valid New Jersey Driver’s license and auto insurance

Working Conditions/Physical Demand: Working indoors with telephone, copier, fax machine, computer, printer, centrifuge, electric exam table, glucometer, nebulizer, needles/syringes, oxygen equipment, personal automobile, scales, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, thermometer, venipuncture equipment, wheelchair.
