Ascension in Austin, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Pediatric Urology department. You will prepare exam rooms, capture vital signs, and help transition patients through visits.

Responsibilities include documenting diagnoses and orders in the EHR, maintaining supplies, and supporting a smooth care journey for patients and families. This role offers a full-time day-shift schedule and opportunities for growth within Ascension.

Qualifikationen

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• MA credential (CMA/AMCA/AMT/NCCT/NAH) obtained within 6 months of hire.

• Master clinical documentation by transcribing diagnoses, orders, and follow-up instructions into the patient record, ensuring the accuracy of the care journey from start to finish.
• Optimize the care environment by managing essential supplies and materials, ensuring the team is always equipped to provide uninterrupted patient care.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
• Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Association for Health Professionals obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date OR job transfer date. American Medical Certification (AMCA) also accepted.
• Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date OR job transfer date. American Medical Certification (AMCA) also accepted.
• Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date OR job transfer date. American Medical Certification (AMCA) also accepted.
• Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date OR job transfer date. American Medical Certification (AMCA) also accepted.
• Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date OR job transfer date. American Medical Certification (AMCA) also accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
