Job summary

UNC Health in Granite Falls, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant I, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic. You will work under supervision of the provider and manager, handling rooming, data collection, and basic procedures.

The role requires MA certification and BLS; prior MA experience preferred. Full-time, onsite with 40 hours weekly; competitive pay and opportunities for growth along with an incentive program.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program is strongly preferred but not required.
• Requires Medical Assistant certification from AAMA/AMT/NCMA/CCMA/ NRCMA.
• Basic Life Support certification from AHA or ARC is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform rooming and intake, collect vitals and patient data.
• Review medication lists, allergies, and pharmacy preferences.
• Assist provider during treatments and procedures as directed.
• Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.
• Administer medications under provider direction.
• Assist with tests such as EKG and eye exams.
• Support patient registration, scheduling, and follow-ups.
• Maintain exam rooms and sterilize instruments.
