Job summary

UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill is seeking a Medical Assistant, Certified for our Children's Primary and Specialty Clinic. The role supports providers in pediatric outpatient care, rooming patients, taking vitals, collecting histories, and assisting with procedures.

Qualified candidates will hold MA certification and have strong communication and teamwork skills. This is a full-time, onsite position with a standard 40-hour week and day schedule.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program is strongly preferred but not required.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant by AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NCMA/NCMA preferred.
• Experience in a pediatric outpatient setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform rooming, intake, vital signs and data collection for visits.
• Collect medical and social histories from patients and families.
• Review medications and allergies; assist during exams and procedures.
• Phlebotomy, specimen collection and administering medications as directed.
• Assist with tests such as EKG and eye exams under supervision.
• Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies and prepare educational materials.
• Register patients, check-in/out, and schedule tests or referrals.
• Provide post-visit instructions and patient education as directed.
