Job summary

Digestive Health Specialist of Tupelo is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our gastroenterology team in Tupelo, MS. You will perform patient check-in, collect histories, and support physicians with med administration and phlebotomy, while maintaining accurate medical records.

The ideal candidate holds a Medical Assistant certification (or equivalent) and maintains current BLS certification, with prior MD office experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification or equivalent.
• Previous MD office experience or clinical work.
• Maintain current licensure and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient check-in procedures and collect patient history.
• Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous medications per physician.
• Perform phlebotomy for lab work and complete forms.
• Approve prescriptions and communicate with pharmacies as directed by physicians.
• Assist in maintaining general medical records.
• Schedule patient appointments and other procedures in the computer.
• Schedule outpatient X-rays and tests as needed.
