Job summary

One GI is seeking a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant to join Digestive Health Specialist of Tupelo. The role focuses on patient care, routine check-ins, phlebotomy, and support with medications and records in a gastroenterology setting.

Ideal candidates will have an MA certification, BLS, and prior experience in a medical office. The team offers strong benefits and opportunities for growth within One GI.

Qualifications

• Must have High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant Certification is required.
• Previous experience in a medical office environment is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology is required.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient check-in procedures, including patient work-ups and new patient history.
• Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous medications as directed by physician.
• Perform phlebotomy for lab work and complete required forms.
• Approve prescriptions and communicate with pharmacies at direction of physicians.
• Assist in maintaining general medical records.
• Schedule patient appointments and other procedures in the computer as needed.
• Schedule outpatient x-rays and tests as needed.
