Job summary

NorthLakes Community Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinic. The MA will room patients, take vitals, and engage patients about symptoms, medications, allergies, and social drivers of health while updating the EHR.

The role requires certification with CPR and includes assisting with exams, injections, EKGs, and routine labs. Responsibilities include coordinating referrals, preparing charts for refill requests, scheduling visits, and

Qualifications

• Current Medical Assisting certification by national agency required.
• One-year certificate from college or technical school or completion of Medical Assistant program; three or more months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CPR certification required for all roles. Certification from an accredited agency within 12 months of hire is strongly preferred.
• Non-Certified Role: Three or more months related experience and/or clinical training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients and measures vital signs (pulse, temperature, BP, weight, height).
• Interviews patients about symptoms, meds, allergies and other health info using screeners; updates EHR.
• Prepares rooms and patients for exams and assists with treatments and procedures.
• Gives injections, tests and procedures (EKGs, blood tests); may perform routine lab tests.
• Prepares refill charts; responds to patient requests with providers and RN.
• Maintains sterile instruments and inventories supplies; schedules appointments and coordinates referrals.
