Job summary

North Country Healthcare is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team. The CMA works under supervision to support clinical and administrative tasks in a medical office, delivering compassionate patient care and efficient service.

Responsibilities include assisting providers, taking vitals, documenting in EMR, preparing rooms, administering vaccines, performing routine labs, and handling scheduling and referrals.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current CMA certification from a recognized certifying body (AAMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heartsaver CPR AED with renewal on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Assist providers with examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Record patient vital signs, medical history, and medications in EMR accurately.
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure supplies are available and sanitized.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations per protocols.
  • Perform routine labs and specimen collection following proper procedures.
  • Schedule appointments, referrals, and coordinate with other facilities.
