Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a Medical Assistant to support licensed providers in clinic and surgical settings. You will perform patient interviews, take vitals, prepare exam rooms, and assist with procedures while ensuring safety and HIPAA compliance.

You will administer medications as directed, collect specimens, document thoroughly, and help coordinate tests and admissions. Strong communication, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential for high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Experience in a medical setting is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and sterile technique.
• Understanding of anatomy, medications and HIPAA guidelines.
• Ability to document accurately and follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers during exams, procedures and surgeries while maintaining sterile field.
• Interview patients, record medical history, vital signs and test results.
• Prepare exam and procedure rooms, ensure supplies and equipment readiness.
• Explain treatments, medications and post-care instructions to patients.
• Administer medications per physician orders and document administration details.
• Collect specimens and log test items for laboratory processing.
• Refill prescriptions under provider direction and communicate with pharmacies.
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate tests/admissions.
• Maintain accurate documentation in medical records and EMR.
• Respond to emergencies per facility protocols and assist team as needed.
