Mercer Medicine at Mercer University in Macon, GA seeks a Certified Medical Assistant/Medical Assistant to support both clinical and clerical duties in a busy outpatient setting.

The role requires direct patient care experience, CMA certification, CPR readiness, and proficiency with EMR systems. You will work under physician supervision to perform wellness visits, vitals, and a variety of front/back-office tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and direct patient care experience.
• Current CMA certification required.
• CPR certification must be earned within 6 months of start date.
• Proficient computer use to check patients out.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with EMR systems (EMD or Athena).

Responsibilities

• Multi-task across patients and phone calls including scheduling follow-ups.
• Handle front and back office tasks: rooms, vitals, refills, referrals, authorizations.
• EMR documentation and patient education; clinical workflow support.
• Support annual wellness visits with labs and immunizations per protocol.
• Perform other tasks within the scope of certification.
