Job summary

Responsibilities include taking vitals, counseling patients, administering medications, collecting specimens, and maintaining EMR records. Requires MA program completion and AAMA or equivalent certification, plus BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant program.
• Current certification/registration through AAMA or equivalent.
• Current American Heart Association BLS completion.

Responsibilities

• Assist in examination and treatment under provider direction; measure vitals and obtain health histories.
• Provide health promotion and counseling to patients and caregivers; establish rapport and explain plan of care.
• Administer medications and immunizations as directed; perform wound care and personal health interventions.
• Perform patient testing including specimen collection, CLIA-waived tests, blood collection, and ECG.
• Serve as a communication liaison for the healthcare team.
• Assist with patient scheduling and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate patient records using an EMR system.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment in line with policies and regulations.
• May perform other duties as assigned or updated as needed.
