Job summary

The University of Virginia is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to provide clinical support in an ambulatory setting under the supervision of the physician or licensed designee.

Responsibilities include patient care, vital signs, specimen collection, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, wound care, and administrative support. Must hold AHA BLS and CMA certification; high school diploma required; competitive pay range applies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
• Certified Medical Assistant credential (AAMA/AMT/NAHP/ARMA/NHA) required.

Responsibilities

• Assists clinic operations and maintains communication with team and patients.
• Performs clinical intake, data collection and documentation.
• Provides clinical support during examinations and procedures (venipuncture, testing, specimen handling).
• Manages supply inventory and ensures a safe environment for patient care.
• Performs administrative duties such as scheduling and form completion.
