Centra Health in Lynchburg, Virginia, seeks a Medical Assistant (non-certified) to support patients under a licensed practitioner and assist with clerical tasks. The role emphasizes patient care, vital signs, basic treatments, and EMR documentation.

You will collaborate with providers and the care team to coordinate care, administer medications and immunizations as directed, schedule follow-ups, and maintain accurate records in the EMR system.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months–1 year medical experience.
• If limited or no medical experience, eligible for Registered Apprenticeship program (pending CMG leadership approval).
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) completion.

Responsabilidades

• Assists in examination and treatment of patients under provider direction; measures vital signs and interviews patients.
• Provides health promotion and counseling to patients and caregivers; identifies patient care requirements and explains the plan of care.
• Administers medications and immunizations; wound care and health interventions per provider.
• Performs patient testing including specimen collection, CLIA-waived testing, blood collection, and EKG.
• Serve as communication liaison for the healthcare team.
• Assists with patient scheduling and follow-up care.
• Maintains accurate patient records in EMR.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment and adheres to policies.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
