Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Preferred: Medical Assistant Program.
• Preferred: Completion of medical assistant program including clinical rotation and physician office experience.
• Certification as CMA/RMA; BLS (CPR) required from listed bodies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in collection of patient data including biological, psychological, social, and cultural factors.
• Enter data and implement the plan of care as directed by the Provider.
• Perform 12-lead EKGs and select respiratory care procedures.
• Administer oral and parenteral medications including immunizations and injections under supervision.
• Complete prior authorizations for medications and communicate prescriptions to pharmacies.
• Oversee appointment bookings and maintain timely flow of patients.
• Provide accurate documentation of all medical assistant procedures in the medical record.
• Obtain prior authorization or pre-certification for patients to comply with safety standards.
• Communicate patient conditions and concerns to nursing staff and physician for triage.
