Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) to provide direct patient care in an outpatient clinic. The role includes rooming patients, supporting physicians, performing EKGs and basic procedures, and maintaining accurate EMR documentation.

Responsibilities also include patient education, medication preparation per policy, phlebotomy, specimen handling, and coordinating referrals and pre-authorizations as needed.

Qualifications

• CMA or RMA certification is required.
• Direct patient care experience preferred.
• Outpatient clinic experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient information using the EMR rooming tool.
• Set up examination and treatment rooms between patients.
• Assist provider during visits and minor procedures as directed.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens as needed.
• Prepare and administer medications per policy (no IV meds).
• Complete tests and treatments per orders and ensure proper documentation.
• Reinforce patient education and ensure safety and privacy.
