Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care and clinical support in the outpatient setting. You will assist providers, prepare patients, collect information, and document in the EMR while maintaining a safe environment for patients.

Requirements include CMA or RMA certification and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Certification from a listed governing association is required, with BLS within 6 months of employment.

Qualifications

• Licensed CMA or RMA required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (1-year certificate or 2-year diploma) preferred.
• Certified by NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient visit data in EMR rooming tool.
• Set up examination rooms between cases.
• Assist provider during visits and minor procedures.
• Administer medications as policy allows (no IV).
• Collect specimens and prepare lab paperwork.
• Document interactions and ensure accurate medical records.
