Job summary

MelroseWakefield Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in the Melrose outpatient setting. You will prepare patient rooms, collect vitals, assist physicians, and help with charting and billing, ensuring a smooth patient experience.

The role requires a high school diploma, MA certification attestation, BLS (within 3 months), and 2 years of MA experience; bilingual skills and EMR familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant National Certification Attestation issued by a governing body (AAMA, AMCA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification OR Obtain within three months.
• Two years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Preferred: Three years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Preferred: Bilingual abilities.
• Preferred: Experience with electronic medical record systems.

Responsibilities

• Controls and monitors patient flow to maximize efficient use of providers and exam rooms.
• Prepares medical records for patient visits and confirms data accuracy.
• Provides high-quality customer service in all patient interactions.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures comfort, privacy and safety.
• Records vitals, pain levels, and reviews medications with patients.
• Assists with exams and procedures as necessary.
• Supports billing with CPT/diagnosis codes and charting.
• Assists with referrals and prior authorizations as requested by provider.
