Job summary

Melrose Wakefield Hospital seeks a Medical Assistant to support outpatient clinics with clinical and administrative duties, focusing on patient flow, vitals, specimen collection, and EMR documentation.

Under supervision, you will assist physicians with procedures, prepare rooms, and help with immunizations and billing codes, ensuring a safe, patient-centered experience in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant national certification attestation (AAMA/AMCA/AMT/NCCT/NHA) required.
• BLS Certification or ability to obtain within three months.
• 0-2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow to maximize provider and exam room efficiency.
• Prepare medical records and verify patient data with accuracy.
• Take and document vital signs and review medications.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and immunizations as needed.
• Assist with billing by ensuring CPT and diagnosis codes are documented.
• Restock and maintain clinic supplies; ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Provide administrative support including interpreter coordination and scheduling.
