Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Registered Medical Assistant to support providers and clinical staff by obtaining vital information, preparing patients for exams and minor procedures, and coordinating follow-up appointments. You will also schedule referrals, document in the electronic health record, and assist with lab work and vaccines as required.

Qualifications

Clinical support experience assisting providers and staff.
Ability to obtain basic vital signs and prepare patients for exams.
Competence with CPT/ICD-10 coding for referrals and tests.
Strong documentation and patient education skills.
Adherence to HIPAA, CLIA and OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

Assist provider and clinical staff with obtaining basic vital information preparing patient for examination, treatment and minor surgical procedures.
Demonstrates competence in the clinical skills necessary to carry out assigned job duties.
May be required to draw and collect blood and other samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
Administer ordered vaccines.
Track follow-up appointments for office visits, labs and procedures.
Schedule referrals and complete necessary forms or lab requisitions with CPT/ICD-10 coding.
Document in the patient’s electronic health record using standard workflows.
Provide patient teaching and answer questions.
Maintain compliance with safety, privacy, and compliance policies.
