Job summary

The Valley Hospital in Paramus, NJ is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform direct clinical activities such as patient intake, blood draw, EKG, and related tests, while also handling front desk duties and EMR documentation in accordance with licensure and Valley Medical Group policies.

The role requires completion of an approved Medical Assistant program and current certification, with prior MA experience in a clinic or physician's office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a formal Medical Assistant program recognized by the State of New Jersey to include coursework in office management, database management or business.
• Current and valid certification as a medical assistant or registered medical assistant recognized by the Board of Examiners such as AMT, AAMA, NCCT is required.
• Previous MA experience in a clinic, physician's office, or outpatient setting with customer service/data entry/clerical experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake, blood draw, pharmacy calls, EKG and tests as required by the provider.
• Accurately document in an EMR system in accordance with licensure and VMG policies.
• Maintain close working relationships with practice staff to ensure proper workflow, care and treatment.
• Perform front desk duties including patient registration, billing, insurance processing and safe visit protocols as directed.
