Your Job as a Certified Medical Assistant

The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for completing clinical care and administrative tasks within the clinic, as defined by their certification within the state where the clinic operates.

Job Responsibilities

• Taking vital signs, venipuncture, collection of body fluid specimens for analysis, and other trained procedures as ordered by professionals.
• Demonstrating organizational skills and the ability to work with the public, with a general working knowledge of operating a medical or clinic office.
• Working under supervision of the Medical Director, Clinic Director, and Office Manager (if applicable).
• Assisting clinical staff in managing a caseload when trained and experienced in outpatient treatment programs.
• Performing receptionist duties such as answering phones, recording messages, scheduling, and supply ordering, with accountability for receipts and cash control.
• Processing incoming and outgoing correspondence.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Skills, and Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant training from an accredited program.
• Prefer experience in a clinic or outpatient setting.
• Previous experience with behavioral health or opioid use disorder (OUD) recovery preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience required.

Licenses/Certifications

• Medical Assistant certification in Indiana.
