Job summary

The Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in office procedures, perform phlebotomy and lab testing, and manage QA/QC tasks. You will collect specimens, enter data in Onco/EMR, handle vital signs, and coordinate outside testing as required.

Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. BLS and venipuncture experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• One year of experience as a medical assistant with venipuncture experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and laboratory testing with quality control.
• Carry out blood work and specimen handling following procedures.
• Document test results and patient data in EMR and ensure accurate charging.
• Assist physicians with procedures such as bone marrow sampling, paracentesis and pelvic exams.
• Obtain vital signs, patient history, and schedule outside testing as needed.
• Maintain inventory and ensure laboratory equipment is functioning and compliant.
