Job summary

Duke University Health System seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for the Duke Health North Durham Clinic in Durham, NC. This on-site role supports an interdisciplinary team providing care to adults aged 18 and older in a multidisciplinary clinic setting.

The CMA will perform routine administrative and patient care duties, assist with examinations, collect specimens, administer medications, and support lab and x-ray services in a busy outpatient clinic.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred; high school or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Update and file patient medical records.
• Arrange for laboratory services.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Take electrocardiograms.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist the physician during examinations and procedures.
• Document patient education and involvement in the care plan.
